I agree! They gave up on Liriano and understandably so. And, he has more up side than Blackburn. So, why are they holding on to him? He's never had a winning record and is sporting a career ERA of about 5...and of course a 7.39 ERA this season. It should an easy decision to let him go...even for a rebuilding team. What a waste of almost $5 million a season!!

Since Leftyd seems to believe he knows everything, now is a good time for him to realize he doesn't. As I've said before, without the proper support from the Twins, it will be difficult for any player to perform to their full potential. The Twins are clearly not providing that support.

Lets get some coaches(hitting/pitching) that can help these players find there stuff.

I don't know who this Rob Antony is or anything about him but something about the things he's said while apparently running things this week. Rubs me the wrong way. If your in charge make a definitive decesion.

Send him to AAA. The only bright spots for this year's team have come when they have gotten rid (either through trade, demotion or IR list) of the starters they counted on and brought up guys like Diamond, Walters and Deduno who weren't even on the radar when they broke camp in Fort Meyers last spring.

Antony seems to be a indicator of just how lost this orginization is -they don't know what to do with a guy that can't deliver a "quality" start???

What do you suppose other teams would do with a guy in Blackburn's situation? Hasn't had a win in two months, has been sent to AAA already, still isn't performing, and now readily admits he "doesn't know what to change?" Seems to be more than a confidence problem with him, but what is he supposed to have confidence in? He can't get the job done - and now it's become readily apparent. What is he supposed to have confidence in, if he's a pitcher who can't pitch well? It also seems like the pitching coach hasn't helped him to improve, either. May be time to talk with Jobu.

Having a guy like Blackburn in the rotation spells gloom and doom for team morale. The other players have certainly lost faith in him, and having a guaranteed loss every 5th day only puts more pressure on the other starters, the bullpen, and the bats. Get rid of this guy. And if Gardenhire, his coaching staff and the front office can't figure it out, Blackburn might just be taking them with him when he gets the axe.
