Just did this today myself with my buddy and our fly rods and my 15' Grumman aluminum canoe on a river. It was a most anticipated trip (as always it is) and it didn't disappoint. Came away from it with a new pleasant energy. We hope to make this trip again real soon.

Did a similar trip Fri-Sat.. Started at Grantsburg and went south from there for 2 days.. Caught enough fish to eat and find fun however the river was WAY down so a lot of good fishing spots were exposed to air instead of submerged. In Fact, our camp site was normally sumbmerged but it proved to be a great sand bar spot. This is the 10th year I've done this trip on various sections of this river from North of Grantsburg about 10 miles all the way down to the WIld River state park east access of North Branch. I've now narrowed it down to the best stretch for fishing but I may have to change the days. Fri-Sat gets crowded and the Camps sites are full. Great Mn-Wi natural habitat that makes this Gods country!!
