HOW MUCH MORE of this can you take? no discussion and they give him over $60,000? guess the real meeting was held in secret. Isn't one party rule fun? you know, all DFL?

I don't get it. In these times why are packages allowed like this. Don't give me that cream of the crop line. Good hard working people who know how to do the job will take the job without these types of packages. Time for certain aspects of government to realize this.

...and don't forget to pay him his 10 sick days, 3 personal days, and 25 days of unused vacation while you're cutting those checks. The man worked diligently for 9 months after all and everyone knows the job could have never been filled without this sort of separation protection in place.

No CAR ALLOWANCE?!? Who could STAND such poor working conditions....and in such a progressive city like Minneapolis. There's probably a few hundred unemployed people in the metro area that could have done the job as well for $35,000/year and be thankful they were employed.

"Council Member Cam Gordon, vice chairman of the council's regulatory committee, said it would have been nice if the city figured out how to restructure the department before searching for a new director last year." ---- Cam, instead of blaming "THE CITY" in your statement for this "hiring problem" that occurred, why don't you just find out for us who really screwed up politically? Nice transparency. Stop circling the wagons all the time. Are you RT's protege?

What ever happened to open meetings? In Minneapolis it seems meetings are open except when there is an embarrassed council or council person. Where is the AG?

Minneapolis is poorly run. Every expenditure should have full transparency. Nice job Schiff. Don't know anything about you but nice to see someone in mpls govt has a backbone.

With payoffs like this, million dollar drinking fountains, millions in payouts to career criminals who get owies while resisting arrest, it's no wonder Rybak want's to raise taxes. He needs to stop allowing this nonsense while cutting police and fireman.
