Nick Blackburn is one of the most overrated/overpaid Twins pitchers I can remember. Only other one I can think of is Brad Radke...overrated. And maybe Joe Mays...overrated. I see Johann got lit up for 6 tonight...not the same pitcher folks but still won more Cy Youngs than any of this staff will win.

People are starting to speculate that Blackburn is pitching through an injury. Please don't pull a Capps from last year Blackie, do all of us a favor and admit your injury so we don't injure ourselves running away from our tv's when you "pitch."

The Strib reporters almost got Gardy to say his classic line "their guy was a real Cy Young out there tonight". Maybe it's the AAA line up that Gardy sent out tonight!

"Nick Blackburn is one of the most overrated/overpaid Twins pitchers":__ That would imply there are actually people who have a high opinion of his pitching abilities. But I definitely agree he is one of the most overpaid pitchers currently on the Twins roster. Also agree regarding Joe Mays. Another sinkerballer who had only ONE good year; had horrendous years after that along with injuring his arm which required surgery. Bah! One of the worst contracts given by the Twins!

My brother called them "arm" pitchers. They pitch with their arm and not their legs. That's why the "flame out" so quick. Guess most people/other than those clowns in the booth, haven't rated him/Blackburn, that "high" afterall.

Honestly...can Gardo be quoted any other way than "we battled...the other guy was such and such...we took a few hacks..pretty much ate us up" the only thing missing was "Blackie..didn't have his best stuff...but kept us in the game after giving up 11 hits in less than six innings." The little league world series is on and a much more entertaining watch. The kids play hard, play with pride, and their manager's do a better job of preparing their teams and have better game-management skills.

"Blackburn is overrated"??? As @firefly said, there's nobody out there who thinks he's any good. He's lost his past 5 decisions, has a record of 4-9, and in 19 starts has a 7.38 ERA. He's the worst pitcher in Major League Baseball and perhaps the worst player overall. No clue why the Twins don't bring up another kid from Rochester to take his place - maybe they can catch lightning in a bottle like they did with Diamond & Deduno.

How Nick Blackburn still wears a major league uniform in beyond me. Worse, he has an obnoxious contract. He is awful. He pitches terrible every time out. He is even worse if the game means anything. Nick: Please....just go away.

Well Twins, another bad pitcher. They better watch out, their season might as well be over.
