Saw this posted on ebaumsworld the other day and loved it. Kids being kids and talking about what they know. Great work kids! Was nice to see North Commons park and the area where I grew up, all the way from Baltimore! Great work.

Thanks for sharing some GOOD news about wonderful young people on the Northside. The kids are great and the North Y and Beacons do good work. Too bad this paper wasn't the first to report this news!

Yes the problems of access to nutritional food are a problem in certain areas, but this is not the place to discuss it. If children of wealthy parents who have personal chefs cook them healthy meals every day had to make a music video about food, I think they'd choose something more along the lines of hot cheetos as well. Kids being kids! Love it!

"The song reflects the sad reality of kids in north Minneapolis, where many of the families can't afford or don't have access to fresher and more nutritious foods," Johnson said. I love the video and what's happening with It but let's clear one thing up. We have access to healthier choices here in NOMI and I'll bet a dollar these kids eat a lot of healthy foods, too. These are just snacks and cost the same as a banana or apple at these stores. These snacks are just choices. It's not about an abandoned wasteland with no grocery stores or people of means.
