Another invasive species brought to us by ocean ging ships dumping bilge water. Maybe we need to close west metor boat ramps to stop the spread.

Where are the outbreaks the highest? I'm curious to know if there is a correlation between wind turbines killing hundreds of thousands of passerines and bats and the rise in things like West Nile. If we do not have predators to eat mosquitos, we will have a rise in all sorts of illnesses.

I blame massive immigration to US from the Third World for all these new, exotic, imported diseases, deadly diseases like West Nile, Ebola, Hanta Virus, and more. These diseases were unheard of in America 20, 30, 40 years ago. And its only going to get worse until we close our immigration floodgates (both legal & illegal immigrants)and seal our borders from the illegal foreign invaders coming in by the millions! You can thank Ted Kennedy and all the politicians that came after Ted for this for doing nothing to stop it.

I know this is math, but the article says about 1 in 150 people get serious complications from the virus, about .66 %, but 10 out of 240 died, about 4.16%. I do believe that dying would be classified as a "serious complication", wouldn't it? And yes, the sampling size was statisically small and isolated for the deaths, but perhaps the author could have investigated further and explained why the death rate was higher for those people. Perhaps age related? might be important to know that type of thing.
