Gee, what a news flash. Given that the secondary really is not all that good compared to the rest of the NFL, how cold their objective possibly be anything BUT improvement. What is the alternative? Hey, team, let’s all play even WORSE!

This is not just one problem; this is a myriad of thinking that has produced a defense that will never be good. Why was this not an issue back in the late 60's and 70's? This is real simple; we had the best pass rushers in the NFL. Now we have, well.... Jared Allen. Add to that the zone defense we ALWAYS play, and all the quarterback has to do, is pick the spot and has the time to do it too. To aggravate the situation, we have added linebackers incapable of making a drop into coverage. Then our thinking came along with how NOT to give up the big play so the safeties are told to sit back as far as they can. I watched the preseason game on national TV last night. The vikings have a long way to go.

This year's problem is going to be at linebacker. Vince Lombardi once said: " Give me 11 linebackers and I'll give you a winning team". This year the vikings have one proven linebacker...how could they put themselves in this position?

What exactly did Mistral Raymond do to get elevated to the top of the depth chart at Safety? He's seems to be out of position on most plays and needs a geometry lesson or two because he takes lousy angles to the ball. Where is Robert Blanton in this mix?

who ever game me the thumbs down, doesn't know much about sports. For what I wrote made all the sense in the world. Now I want you to change your vote to a thumbs up. Or give the reason you don't agree with it. I should see all thumbs up.

The only two games on the schedule I see the Vikings have a chance on winning is the Jacksonville and rams game other than that I see all losses. They say the early season is favorable but I think Indianapolis will try this year. And what I've seen of Luck he is the real deal and the reason why Indy was smart and tried to lose to get him. I think we would have won more games this year if we had the easy teams at the end of the season instead of the beginning because the other teams with bad records wouldn't be stupid like the Vikings and would let us win. I just hope the Vikings don't screw it up again this year and win just enough to be a 4 th or 5 th worse team. If Ponder shows he isn't the long term solution then we need to get the real deal this year and also a superstar wide receiver.

Football coaches are an amazing group. They can say that injuries are not caused by "physical play" with a straight face.

If you ask me, I am not sure Mistral Raymond is cut out to fill that role. On that play vs the 49ers, it looked to me like Raymond didn't want to take on Brandon Jacobs, so he purposely took the wrong angle, so he could use that excuse later. I am thinking that Jamarca Sanford is the guy. He, at least, will hit you if you come near him. As for Raymond - well, it takes more than a guy with dread locks bouncing around to impress me.

@tjtwinsfan You can't change a vote once you cast it.
