"Many of the world's leading climate scientists didn't see the drop coming, in large part because it happened as a result of market forces rather than direct government action against carbon dioxide"----This is probably the most telling sentence in the entire article.

No measurements, just assumptions and regulatory reporting. Good thing, mother nature has vastly increased her release of Carbon the last 4 months, the west and Canada's forests are oxidizing at a record pace, and have more than made up for man's meager to begin with shortfall!

Also telling: "There's a very clear lesson here. What it shows is that if you make a cleaner energy source cheaper, you will displace dirtier sources," said Roger Pielke Jr., a climate expert at the University of Colorado." Clean or dirty has NOTHING to do with it- the controlling factor is COST. If you came up with fuel that was twice as dirty as coal, but half the price, we would switch to that. Bill G.

But Romney says we have 250 years of coal. What now?

The basic problem that no one wants to talk about is we have enough fossil fuels to destroy the planet. It does not matter how little fossil fuels cost, we have to leave it in the ground.

"But Romney says we have 250 years of coal. What now?" It will still be there if and when it is needed. How's that for energy security?

I fully agree with the statement that energy companies are going to use the cheapest fuel. Maybe an environmental tax on coal will help other coal burning plants to switch to natural gas. Germany has to update it's power grid, why? Germany has solar panels everywhere and is producing so much power it has to update it's power grid. The rest of the world understands global warming is real and is trting to do their part in fixing the problem. With the U.S. sending coal to China we are enabling china to make the problem worse. We need to stop listening to the oil companies and their paid spokesmen and start listening to 99.9% of the climate scientists and get off of fossil fuels. I believe hydrogen and tidal generators will be our power source of the future. how many hi temp records have to be broken before some people wake up? Does whats left of the polar ice cap have to float by New York before we say "maybe there's a problem". When you need a submarine to go to disney world then you can be sure climate change is real.
