Reason for optimism, concern as camp ends

The Vikings can feel good about the progress made by Adrian Peterson, but real questions remain at linebacker and at safety.

So why can't the coaching staff try Webb at safety again? I've still not heard a good answer.

Sanford was rated as the overall worst Safety in the entire league last year. If this guy starts, then we truly know how bad our safeties are. Also, if a guy who didn't play a down last year can be our starting MLB, then we have MAJOR issues at that position. Every team should just run up the middle on us!

Linebacker and Saftey have been issues for years.....Rick Spielman at its finest.

jwills.....MONEY. Wilf has become cheap and is now punishing Vikings fans for the state taking so long in getting a stadium bill approved. Wilf said it himself....he told the fans to have patience with this teams progress as he had to have patience getting his new stadium. What an owner. We will finish last for the 3rd year in a row and counting.

This love affair some people have with Webb is laughable at times. I wonder if people in San Francisco were clamoring to see C.Kaepernick get on the field any way possible after his 78-yard TD run against us? Yeah, I'm sure they wanted to see him at both WR AND safety.

EJ is not back for the same reason they didn't bring back Pat W last year, just not physically capable of doing the job any more. I enjoyed watching them both. I'm not sure we can beat either the jaguars or the colts, we don't seem to be strong against the pass or run anymore. In a league of scoring, you have to rebuild the offense first. Spielmen has fallen on his face so far, free agent signings for O were a joke, none are breaking camp on the fields as starters.

Add concerns at QB and WR to the list. In other words, the same concerns we had going into the offseason. I hate to say what I'm about to say, because I want the Vikings to do well, but I have absolutely zero confidence that Spielman/Frazier/Ponder will get this team to a Super Bowl, so it would be better to have another terrible year so we can clean house in the front office.

joe webb, is NOT qb material. throw him at WR and have some trick plays with him throwing! it's proven that our secondary sucks, throw in that 1st rnd pick Smith at safety and let him rip! what are we waiting for????

If the Vikes wanted Chad Johnson they would have brought him in before his arrest, not after. Our only source of pride is the league leading number of arrests our team has put together over the past 10 years.
