Good. When you cut funding to higher education and force Universities to raise tuition its no wonder the Students won't spend money for things that don't help them live or improve their education. This shows that of U of MN students understand what should be their spending priority.

When Gopher football abandoned the campus in 1982, it pretty much told the student population that it wasn't an important factor. After ignoring students for 28 years, the U should not be surprised that there is little student enthusiasm now. Try lowering student ticket prices and lobby student organizations and perhaps they will come back, but it is not going to happen overnight. Of course, a winning team would help.

In order to get students at games they need to win but they also need to generate some atmosphere. they should continue to use the McNamara Alumni Center as "party central" with outdoor grilling, music, etc. to get students interested and out of of their dorms and apartments and enticing them to think about going to a football game. Maybe even paying for clowns, jugglers, etc. to walk around in the streets to get people to laugh and have fun.

The last time the U of M went to the Rose Bowl my tuition per semester for 15 units was less than the price of a current student season ticket. I now live in Tucson, Arizona and have to cheer for the University of Arizona who has never been to a Rose Bowl, since joining the Pac-10/Pac-12 in the seventies. Sigh!!!!!! Come on, one Rose Bowl win or one Super Bowl win before I die, please!

NDSU should trade stadiums. NDSU sold out every seat! 20,000 in 3 hours on Aug 1st. 4000 students. NDSU 27 gophers 14 plus NDSU would win more games in the big ten.

We don't want to trade places with NDSU because we'd have to live in Fargo.

Does this surprise anyone at all? If there isn't a winning product on the field, students become ambivalent. There hasn't been a worthwhile product since Mason, and he was barely keeping the Gophers relevant. Start winning games and it'll be the place to be on Saturday.
