Well, I'd have to say the U. of MN faculty have done a good job teaching the students good critical thinking skills. With the product put on the field year after year, why would we expect students to spend their money on it.

Is every student attending an Ohio State or Michigan patted down and searched before every game, and treated like a criminal intent on doing harm to the other fans? I can't imagine why MN students don't want to go to the games to be treated as lesser beings, but instead go to their houses and apartments and dorms and watch the game on TV with friends and friendly environment and have party fun... Hey U of M admin trying to fill the stands - students want a party and want to expand and explore - your game experience plan - from ticket sold to out the stadium door - is the worst competing plan in almost all of college football. It's less the product on the field than it is the experience being provided. Think the losing Mets that always filled the stands and had a party every game.

It might also help sales if the students had a place to tailgate closer to the stadium. Right now the best option is in St. Paul (bus ride away) and only those willing to spend a lot of money have access to any tailgating lots on the East Bank. Making the pregame rituals more accessible to the students would help build a fanbase and therefore, sell tickets.
