This move was long overdue. Dozier just looked too comfortable out there (like most of the club).

15 errors? Wow...not good. And not hitting either. Now explain to me you geeks that do the research, how this guys' their shortstop solution of the future. I'm listening.

Dozier was over matched from the start of the season and needed more minor league playing time, but the Twins had nothing down on the farm, like Nishi. How does sending him down with 3 weeks left help? They knew this problem going into the season, just like starting pitch and didn't do anything to improve the problem. Wait til next season when the billionaires and Ryan cut payroll.

The fact Gardy was upset about this much-needed move says all you need to know about his ability to effectively and objectively evaluate and assist struggling infielders. Since becoming manager 10 yrs ago, Gardy and his staff have failed to develop a single long-term solution at 2B, SS or 3B--ironically, the same positions Gardy once played. That's partly due to draft picks who haven't panned out, but uncanny how often so many infielders go backwards in their development under Gardy's oversight.

Gardy reportedly was upset with the move because now he need to find another whipping boy since Mauer, Span, Revere, Morneau and any starting pitcher are immune from that position. This team's biggest problem is the guy calling the shots from the dugout - Gardenhire. If they had played Dozier the last 2 days - he probably wouldn't have been sent down. But instead - Gardy benches him - then TR and RA see that and say - Okay - if he's not going to play - let's send him down - since Rochester we know the manager will play him.

This will be good for Dozier and the Twins long term. Gardy and his garbage coaches are unable to help young struggling players. Try and name one they've ever helped, you can't. Glynn and Bruno will get him back on track like they did Revere and Plouffe and others. Dozier will be good once he has his head screwed on straight by solid coaching.

As challenging as the left side of the infield has been to field consistent players, it will be more challenging next year as Jamey Carroll, a solid and versatile defensive role player hits 39 yrs old. His BA has dropped this yr and will unlikely improve next. Twins need not 1 but 2 solid answers between 3B, SS and 2B for 2013.

Yep,,,,,,,,,the Twins had this position filled for the next 5-7 years with an All-Star. JJ Hardy......didn't give him a chance to heal up.....stupidest move in the last 10 years to let him go............

Funny how no twins poster mention capps and pavano. Our two worst pitchers because they dont even pitch.

Fix the problem - fire Gardy and staff. None of them can work or develop young players or pitchers. Terry Ryan is no answer either. He couldn't evaluate a pitcher if his wrinkled polo shirt depended on it.
