There's not a great deal of reporting that occurs here, xorcist. Never did get the obvious details on Jason Marquis, for example. Was he asked to take another AAA assignment before the Twins released him? No idea. Strib is so busy writing sports blogs, which anyone can do, that they've forgotten the one thing that others can't do is report, because others don't have the access to the people the Strib does. Be nice if they'd put that access to use.

PLEASE MR RYAN.. Do not bring this poor guy back up here. He never was, and never will be, a major league player. Not even off the bench!! Fans pay good, hard-earned $ at the park, and it is an insult to the fans, and the team, to put this guy on the field. Ya Dig?

No, no, no. Mr. Ryan, the problem with Nishioka isn't a matter of confidence. Its a matter of competence. The guy doesn't have the intestional fortitude to rise above his trials and tribulations. He doesn't have the talent to play at the MLB level. He's shown that time after time. He is bust. The longer the Twins stay with this faild expriment, the more stupid they are appearing to be. Nishioka is simply wasting a roster spot from a young, promising ballplayer who actually may have a future with the Twins. For the Twins to coninually bleat that Nishioka has a future with the Twins, etc...is garbage.

Well I guess its going to take one final September call up for Terry Ryan to see once and for all that they need to eat the contract on Nishioka and move on. I guess that takes precedent over trying to finish in 3rd place with something to build towards next season on.

For the love of God, what does it take to make this franchise give up on a player? Not just Nishioka, but also Nick Blackburn should have been given up long ago! It's a good thing the Twins are not in the law enforcement business. Instead of being behind bars, Charles Manson would be a free man, working with coach Joe Vavra on his non-murdering mechanics.

Please don't take a spot of a deserving minor league player to recall Nishi in September. It's painfully obvious he doesn't belong in the MLB. He was even struggling at the AAA. He had one decent month in July and gets sent back to the majors? Crazy. I know there is a huge investment in him, but the best thing is to cut him lose and chalk it up as a $9 million loss. Maybe there is a reason the Chiba Lotte Marines accepted the $5 million posting bid from the Twins. Maybe they saw a decline coming or something.

At this point it is time to end the saga. Nishioka is NOT the answer and no matter what, Twins mangement cannot make him BE the answer. PR disaster or not, it's over...

You think of Nishi said he didn't want to be paid the Twins would release him? He is still in the Twins organization because of his salary. End of story.

Please Mr. Ryan, say it isn't so! No need to continue to protect whomever made the dumb bottom decision to sign the Nikster to a big contract for whatever reason. Just like Valencia, he is not a major league caliber talent and never will be. Granted, the Twins now have their new stadium thanks to the tax payers so there is no longer any incentive for them to field a competitive team, of course. In addition, given his play after his short recall stay with the Twins, there is a real chance that the Nikster could be hurt by a batted ball that he was trying to catch or stop. On the other hand, seeing the Nikster play and him trying to avoid getting killed does serve as a reminder to us all how skillful major league players are in order to play ball and not be so noticed as is the Nikster when he tries to do the same.
