Most of their divisional games don't come until late in the season, and the early part of the schedule is favorable.

• Sid says, "ESPN.com recently updated its top 60 boys' basketball players for the 2014 class, and Apple Valley point guard Tyus Jones is No. 2. Dave Telep wrote about Jones: "He is the best point guard in his state since Khalid El-Amin and might be the purest floor general in high school hoops since Chris Paul in 2003." Also on the list at No. 12 was Cooper star Rashad Vaughn, whom Telep called "one of the most accomplished scorers in the class". Response: Tubby ... here is your chance to prove you are worth that new contract extension. Go get 'em!

Tyrus Jones is in a world of his own and will have every powerful, glamorous program in the nation after him. Unless that player has a true love of the Gophers it is not realistic to expect Tubby to land him as a recruit. Further, I do not believe any coach should pander after any player. While I love athetics it is simply not that important. Think of the dinner put on at the new stadium for that player that went to Miami. Once again we do not need to be nor desire to be another Penn State.

Tubby Smith is a bust and was fired at KY for reasons that must be obvious to any objective mind. His contract extension was the stupidest move in U history-and that is saying a lot

Of the first 9 games 8 of the 9 teams had records better than the Vikings record last year... How exactly is one to conclude that they have a favorable schedule?

Sid is constantly wrong. There are so many examples I dont understand how he has any credibility anymore. This morning on WCCO he claimed the Twins led the league in runs scored, much to Dave Lees suprise. He is never corrected and just continues to spout inaccuracies. Its kinda entertaining though.

Curious if Ponder can accomplish anything against, the 49ers 1st team defense. Let's be honest, Ponder hasn't looked anything special in camp thus far.

Can we please use next years #1 draft pick on a QB? Or is there not one predicted to go that high? Don't want to reach again like we do every year.
