He just needs to do a better job keeping the ball in the park. 13 HR's in 59 innings! He may take Bert's record away.

Hey I'm with you Cole. People have doubted me for years. Negative bank account? Only because I'm helping others by getting myself in debt. Who really does that? I know I know.

IT is a nice story about DE VRIES but in reality is DE VRIES a major leauge pitcher and the answer is NO.HE gives up way too many home runs.

Love this kid. Considering where he has been he has been great for the Twins. Give him an offseason and lets see if he can seize a spot next season. It would be a huge deal for the Twins if he could take over a spot inthe rotation full-time.

13 HR's in 59 innings? Moon Shot Scott would laugh.

If he had someone that knows how use the curve ball and keep it down. The Twins know a guy who did that for awhile. But they have the managers bff.

Sometimes it's fun to forget about how good/bad a team is and just enjoy a positive story like this. Local boy claws his way to the Majors against all odds.... anyone who isn't rooting for DeVries is either heartless or doesn't know anything about him.

As for DeVries' success as a pitcher, he'd be a pretty good mid/back of the rotation starter if he could keep the homers under control. He has decent strikeout and walk numbers. The good news is that he never had a big problem with homers in the minors, so it's possible the 13 HR in 59 innings is just a fluke or a symptom of his lack of MLB experience.

He is a borderline pro at best. Will have a few good outings, but will never be consistent enough to have a role as a starter.
