Not sure why Bowman is "expected" to be the fifth corner. He'll be 28 in November, lost his starting job with the Bears (who also run a cover-2 defense), and is playing on a one-year deal. Personally, I think he's more likely to make it as a special-teams guy than a corner.

Great news about the defensive back improvement. I think Cook is going to have a pro bowl caliber season.

I was surprised to learn that Guion was an under-tackle last year. I thought the entire defense was an under-tackling machine!

@holdstaedy76 - You, along with the vikings, have been saying the same thing about Cook having a "breakout" year this season ever since he was drafted three seasons ago. He has yet to have a breakout season and he never will, he would have been traded this off season but the vikings knew they would have gotten absolutely nothing in return. This will be his last season in a viking uniform and certainly the NFL.

The Vikings will be in for a very long season again if the Vikings don't come up with 2 receivers that are threats to throw to. 4 wins at best this year and if we start out horrible once again, please don't screw up the draft again this year an try to win meaningless games again.

What we have learned.... We should have drafted a great wide receiver 2 years ago and then not be stupid last year and win meaningless games at the end of the year. Then drafted RG this year or get the 3 number one pick that the Rams got and drafted another great lineman and next year a great wide receiver and another one the next year with the picks the Rams got from Washington. Yes is was a learning season for Wilfy. I bet he is just sick at what the Rams got out of trading away its number 2 pick.
