Spielman loves those players with injury issues. Until Spielman is gone as GM, this team will continue to finish last. This will be the 3rd year in a row and counting. There is no reason it takes that long to rebuild unless you really screwed up your personnel, which is pretty obvious in this case.

Even at a 4th round pick, it was a bad choice. Child could hardly play after his 1st knee surgery in college-let alone signing him to a pro contract. Did we pass on some great WR draft picks this year? You bet!

The problem isn't the GM, it's the fact that we've had an awful offensive line for many years and we refused to do anything significant about it other than bring in a few veterans to try save bits and pieces of the line. The other problem is our coaching staff is terrible. Last year's game management and play calling made Childress look like a genius. I would give Spielman a B grade on this past draft. But I forgot, only the Patriots can take chances and if they are successful, they're geniuses, if they're not successful, they're geniuses for trying. The sun will come up tomorrow. hopefully sooner than later. I just want to win man! The negativity in this town sucks.

So when the dust settles, what did we really get for hoodwinking the Browns and moving down slightly? Some extra draft picks that were squandered anyway? Reminds me of Denny Green days, when the D. Underwood Disaster was explained away by DG as "it doesn't matter, that was a bonus pick anyway"...

With all the information known about his health, this seems like a really stupid decision, or a typical Vikings decision. They seem the same. The list of really idiotic draft picks over the last twenty years is really telling.

The awful offensive line that "we" refused to get any players for is squarely on the GM as well. He is the "we" in that equation as well, so YES, you can look squarely at Spielman. His track record on personnel decisions isn't looking very good and this gamble of his that just went bust is just another in a long list of mistakes on his part. You can't put this on ANYONE else in the organization. It's falls squarely on the GM's shoulders. End of story.

Well said. Our GM does not have a good history...he failed in Miami also. I like the idea of taking some risks, but he better start hitting on a few.y

Maybe he should figure out why his knees are so weak?? He won't last long in the NFL if he has that kind of knee problems.
