Vikings veterans have their favorites in camp so far

There have been surprising standouts in Mankato, and that's not lost on experienced players.

So far I would say the secondary. They have been knocking down most of the passes and intercepting quite a few. Of course there hasn't been a lot of full contact yet. Hope the secondary can do it during the season against other teams QB's.

I like the fact that the Vikings added so much team speed, on offense and defense. They were pretty slow as a team last year!

What's the deal with this Reggie Jones? Have read Frazier's and Spielman's comments, and not much said about him, or for that matter, our sports writers, have hardly mentioned his name, before this column. Hate to say it, but I trust our veteran players, more than Spielman, and Frazier, or for that matter our sports writers. This Jones kid, should be looked at very closely as a starting cb, opposite of Cook.

I'm taking a good look at Jones in preseason. From 10% BF down to 3? Terrific!

My hope is that our new Defensive coordinator will allow the guys with that special ability to use it! The Vikings tampa 2 has basically kept all your great players vanilla because you are hamstrung by the system. We have got to give some freedom to our playmakers and get out of this robot like structure that they have been running... You could take a guy like Ed Reed and he would have become vanilla in our past system.

If we can keep a great pass rush on, and with our new secondary talent, we could become a ball hawking team just that quick. Thank god guys like Tyrell Johnson are gone!

Better sign Earl Gray

I would say that anyone expecting anything from this team is ungodly delusional. They made no improvements over last year save a rookie lineman signing, and if you think that's going to help them crawl out of the sewer, well, then you deserve to waste another pathetic year of your life cheering for a loosing team.

The Vikes with some added desire will be 2nd in the North, behind the Super Bowl champs--Packers. Being a Vikes fan, I am only realistic. Could it be at least a playoff year?
