Tarryl Clark, Rick Nolan and Jeff Anderson are spending more than they're taking in.

While Rick and Tarryl spar in the media over who is more pro-choice in this largely pro-life district, Jeff Anderson is working his way around the district talking to voters and finding out what they actually want out of their next congressman. People are tired of the senseless pandering and posturing that have been the hallmark of the Nolan and Clark campaigns. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Anderson win on August 14.

Maybe they aren't taking in much money because even the democrats see 3 loser candidates that don't have a chance of defeating Cravaack.

I am saddened that our democracy has lowered itself to the "money" issue at all levels. I see so much misery in the world, and we spend endless streams of money on annoying campaign TV ads from all parties, signs in a front yard and honestly, who cares? I would welcome major political campaign reforms that get back to the basics, where candidates prepare their platforms and stick to them. Then let independent fact check sites confirm or clarify the statements made by these candidates. And yes, the candidates should have the right to validate the fact check sites. Our nation was built on the notion of one person, one vote. Don't get me started on the electoral college either. Do you realize that in this next presidential election, as much as 50% of you reading this may not have your vote even counted if your candidate loses the state you live in? It is time for major campaign and election reform.

I really think Jeff Anderson is going to surprise everyone in this election. He's got my vote.

Why would the candidates take Jim Oberstar's advice? He got bounced out for bringing home too much bacon.

Doesn't Tarryl have a bunch of left over money from running and losing to Bachmann?

Since I never watch local news, read the Strib, listen to MPR and CSPAN, I never see or hear campaign adds. If I accidently bump into one I flip the channel immediately. Doesn't matter which party you support, they're annoying. I'm a conservative and pitty anyone who makes thier decision based on a stupid campaign add or by being lead by their hand to the polls by a party activist or union leader.

Tarryl Clark rented an apartment just to run for office. She doesn't know anything about the district and could care less about it, she just wants to get elected. If she couldn't beat Bachmen, she can't be very good. I don't think much of politicians who go from district to district trying to get elected somewhere.

With Chip's wife and family now living out East in New Hampshire, and Chip having so little time for MN anymore, it's amazing he can still even vote in MN elections. Wasn't he the one making such a stink about Oberstar not being in MN enough? It's crazy but good theater.

Smart money says wait until the primary results and then bet on the winner. Let them spend their money . The region needs the revenue. If the winner has a viable chance the smart money will get dumped in and the race will be on.
