"And in July, Senate Republicans, on a strict party-line vote, blocked the DISCLOSE Act" The party of big bucks and bigger secrecy continues to try to buy or steal elections by any means possible. They are intent on destroying the middle class and putting all power in the hands of the top 5%. Can you comprehend "oligarchy?"

The Citizens United ruling is FAR FAR FAR more dangerous than Bachmann's Muslim Brotherhood hysteria. Is disclosure really too much to ask? With our elections being bought, shouldn't we at least know by who?

The Citizen's United ruling results in more political "speech" in the form of more campaign ads. In theory that should better inform the voters. In practice, however, when you fact-check the vast majority of political ads, they are misleading or out-and-out false. So the practical effect of the Citizen's United ruling is voters making decisions based on a larger volume of slickly-produced lies and innuendo. If we are going to allow the powerful, deep-pocket forces in our society to sway voters in this fashion, we should at least be able to find out who they are and how much they are spending. It might counter the effect of some of the false advertising if we know the motives behind it.
