The Twins did not make a trade Tuesday, although a report that Denard Span vetoed a deal was incorrect.

Here is my comment snore ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ trade deadline about as thrilling as Ryan's personality. LaVal quit writing that Pavano and Capps are going to be traded through waivers, the only place they are going to is the scrap heap. A partially torn elbow ligament on Wimmers is and should have been treated like a total tear now he is a 1/2 year behind on recovery didn't they learn with the other guy. Shut it down for the year and fire up Ziggy's loser, cause nobody want to hear Gardy tell us 162 times the team is scrapping, more snoring. Pohlad go count your money!

sounds like you don't expect much trade51...and I have to agree on Pohlad counting that will cost him to get pitching seeing as the Twins farm system can't seem to develop any...all these young arms with TJ surgery? What's with that?

Now that Span wasnt trades he can concentrate on being an incredibly bad base runner for a guy with his speed.( slow back to 1st base on the DP).....Imagine how unattractive the offers for Span and Burton must have been considering what Terry Ryan thought was enough to trade ( i mean GIVE ) Liriano away. Cincy must have offered some used shag balls and a couple loaves of day old bread. And just how exactly does Gardenhire ( notice no stupid nicknames Gardenhire) keep Butera around for??? Our bench is the worst in baseball because we have to keep a 3rd catcher and an extra pitcher around. Butera was Pavanos personal catcher and then turned into Lirianos personal catcher....they are both why is Butera here yet????

Let's not forget that Span should have tagged up in the 7th on Mauer's fly out to left center. If that ball bounces off the wall, he scores easily from second anyway. Revere could be our centerfielder and it would be nice to have another outfielder that could hit the ball deep. Doing that would allow Mauer to bat 2nd, where he belongs.

I don't get the constant reporting of Capps and Pavano being dealt in August. No team will give up anything for either of these guys. If all we could get for Liriano were two guys with fringe potential at best, why would anyone give anything up for two guys who are older, have way less potential, have the same free agency status, and you only get them for a month? The Twins sure have the local media wrapped up tight.
