Net bigger fish? Who would have dreamed this? Whatever changes need to be made will be agreed on by both parties as the State isn't the boss here. The two parties are equal, love or hate it. casst fadin' fasst.

I think it is high time reports on this subject include the cost to tax-payers that this mess is. GLIFWC is 100 percent funded by tax dollars--millions of $$ per year and then the cost of MN. DNR managing this mess is millions of $$ to tax-payers per year also. And ALL of this, to take less than $200,000 worth of walleye fillets from Lake Mille Lacs. ALL of this instead of taking those tax dollars we give them and simply buy food from commercial sources. Voters need to decide if this is how their tax dollars are and should be spent. Should we be, potentially, ruin a crown jewel of Mn. natural resources, at a cost of millions of tax $$, to save $200,000 or less for food? Who are the U.S. and MN. gov. officals that justify that spending? Voters need to know...

Quite a stir over some silly fish. Vote however you wish and for whoever you wish - but it doesn't change the 1999 ruling on 1837. Bet on it!

Weed, you are funny – always trying to stir the pot. I’m sure both parties will come to an agreement that will allow the Chippewa to continue to feed their families those “silly fish”. That is, in the spirit of sustenance - right!

Speaking of cost, let's apply this cost-to-benefit ratio to angling, too! See what happens.

The hook and line anglers should be banned from the lake until walleye popolation has been restored to the 1837 levels. The Mille Lacs Band can then determine who is allowed on the lake.

ironweed, if we were all treated equally there would be no group "hate". It's 2012, time for all to play under the same rules. It's coming and you know it.
