So after divided by three it is about 10 work days, is that sick days or is it more like pto? If sick time it seems like a lot still, averaging almost once a month.

It took a $147,000 study to determine how much sick leave was used? Things are so broken it is unbelievable.

BOY THATS A RELIEF, only 87 hours of sick leave for every man, woman, and child working for the fire dept., 3 years in a row......and most seem to fall on a saturday. What else would you expect from a Union and DFL infested work place.

87 hours per year does seem a bit excessive. I realize these folks have demanding jobs that are risky, but two weeks a year? Sounds like many folks are just taking more "vacation" time than they've earned.

I can't believe the firemen would be proud that they only used 11 days of sick time on average a year. That's right; this is a government workers' union.

What are sick days? Never heard of it. Does one get paid for calling in 'sick'??

Don't forget these numbers are averages and include time for sick children, doctor's appointments and the guy that's out for 6 months due to breaking his back saving someone else's life.

11 days per year? Wow. That works out to...ummmm...11 days per year more than I take. No problem if you call in sick, as long as we're not paying you for it.

mlapnor: the guy who broke his back is on workers comp, not sick pay, and personal time should be used for sick kids, and Doctors appointments not sick pay, sick pay is used if you're sick.
