Sid you have lost it. Keep Liriano, Pavano and Blackburn? Why? They haven't proven anything. Why keep "dead wood" on your team? Rebuild with youngsters and a couple/two free agent arms.

Has there ever been a player on a Minnesota pro sports roster whose contract was up that Sid wanted to see go?

Always the apologist for management, why in the world would the Japanese shortstop need to be embarrassed for his salary. The ones who should be embarrassed in the management "brains" who made this silly, inane decision.

Sid, you really think the Pohlads are going to spend any money to upgrade the team??? It's a joke that we continue to tolerate the ownership. This family is as cheap as cheap get's. We build a new stadium and they spend a pitence in comparison to the income it brings in from the metrodome. It's a complete joke...yet we continue to tolerate it.

This team needs dependable, healthy, starting pitchers...and we need more than just one!

Nothing changes if nothing changes...that's been the Twins problem for years. Keep the same manager..keep the same coaching staff..keep most of the same starting pitchers...and then complain when the results are the same. Insanity. Players that have either been traded away or not signed and allowed to walk over the past few years would field a much more competitive team than the current Twins roster. Here we are again...actually with a worse record than last season...and the Twins will do the same thing...and start next season with the same manager..the same coaches..most of the same pitchers..etc etc

Like everyone else Liriano has also been upsetting for me, but it would be better to keep him then give him away for nothing. Ryan tried to play teams for Santana, then gave him away. If the Twins had picked up 2 top free agents last winter, they would have been competitive this year. Sid, along with other suck up writers like La Valle, needs to step up the free agency comments to the Pohlads and get them to spend some of the big money they're making.

I understand holding out for value for Span, Willingham, etc., but Liriano shouldve been traded 2 weeks ago for a bag of balls. The last thing Frankie deserves is a 12 million dollar contract from the Twins. And the last thing the fans need is another player left to leave with no compensation and have success somewhere else.

Maybe we could get another catcher for Liriano...can never have enough catchers!!

just cut Nishioka. Why should we be training him in how to play baseball. Then he will leave for another team. Whoever recommended him should be fired. Cut the Pohlads too. Cheap, cheap, cheap.
