Realistically, if Ponder can become a Wade Wilson or Brad Johnson, he will be a very successful pick for the Vikings.

I know there are many of you that will disagree with this: Ponder will be a future Pro Bowler. The kid is talented, smart, and dedicated. Also, he does not have the crazy pressure most 1st round QBs do.

I'll reserve judgment until around mid-season when Simpson has a few games to develop a rapport. I want to see what a real offseason does to his decision making. I'm not worried about his desire, but NFL history is littered with those who had desire but couldn't get it done. I truly hope he succeeds.

3-13... Yeah, Ponder owns some of that but, to a larger degree, so do Frazier and Musgrave. Frazier with his unwillingness to concede that choosing, lobbying for, and sticking with McCan't was a BIG mistake, and Musgrave for his ridiculous, ineffective play selection (did I mention how he telegraphed plays to the opposing defense?). Sheesh! I'm guessing that Ponder is going to demonstrate the most impressive strides, of the three! GO VIKINGS!!!

Of all the storylines and "what to watch for" articles about the Vikes this season, it really all comes down to this...Is Ponder the QB of the future for this team and will he lead us back from the dregs of the past couple years? I hope so! "Hope is a good thing..."

Ponder had better get it done this year. He is far and away the worst starting QB in this division. Rodgers, Stafford and Cutler are miles ahead of him and it is not and never will be close. Ponder has issues with accuracy that are a concern. His deep ball is average at best. Joe Webb gets credit for one of those wins last year. Joe Webb may not be the answer we're looking for but has outplayed Ponder when given the chance.

There is NO WAY Ponder will become a probowler. Talk about head in the sand. Or perhaps eternal optimism. Whatever you want to call it, Ponder does not have the arm strength or the offensive line/receivers to become a pro bowler.

Dirty: Obviously you're no football expert. Marino and Montana had average arms at best and If I'm not mistaken, they've been inducted into the HOF. Comparing T-jack and Ponder? Let see, cannon arm, zero accuracy and no ability to read the 'D'. Had time and decent receivers. Horrible O line, one wide receiver and no camp. (Horrible playcalling as well!!!) Let's wait and see before we pass judgment on Ponder. On paper it looks like a serviceable O line and a good young group of receivers. I'm sure that he'll improve, but he needs a team to support him.
