City of Brooklyn Park says you must call to transfer utilities, but they will not answer the phone during business hours. Good luck!

25% of city employees could be eliminated without a reduction in services. Most City organizational structures are based on 1960's mentality, with technology used inefficiently. City Councils realize that AFSCME is too powerful when it comes to reelection.

I've made enough calls to automated telephone systems that run you in circles and never get you to the party you want or the information you want where, if I hear an automated voice I just hang up. If I cannot get what I want from that party's web page I just don't do business with it. If I cannot reach who I want in a government office I'd rather send a letter by certified mail (return receipt requested) than jump through their hoops. If an elected official does not respond they will not get my vote, including one Hennepin County Commissioner.They work for us, the taxpayers.

AFSCME is hardly interested in small city politics and devotes very little money to the election of city officials

Nothing more irritating than automated receptionists that run you in endless circles. I don't hang up, I hit the "O" key repeatedly until something happens. Sometimes the # or the * will work and sometimes you just have to give up.

Your tax dollars (and mine) pay for a live operator to answer your call. I would rather cities spend the money on road repairs and such instead.
