Paul Levy's article would be more believable if he DIDN'T know the history and background of the candidates in the Anoka County Commissioners races this year, but he has covered Anoka County for years and his article is full of half truths at best and statements without context. Let's start with Levy's biased comparisons of the candidates vying for the District 1 seat. The current commissioner, Matt Look, has done a wonderful job, doing all the things we both need and want him to do, such as; cut unnecessary costs, maintain and even EXPAND infrastructure spending and get rid of horrendous boondogles like Dinosaur Dan Erhart's "casino train". Levy "forgot" to mention that Matt Look spent the previous 4 years on the Ramsey City Council, helping clean up the terrible fiscal disaster left by the previous city council and it's clueless former Mayor: none other than Tom Gamec. Gamec's name is on the plaque in Ramsey City Hall, the "Taj Mahal", a monument to failed policy and planning. As one of those primarily responsible for the mess that the current council has tried to clean up, Gamec should never again be allowed to hold any public office. Ramsey is almost fixed and Anoka County just had the FIRST levy cut in 40 years. So now Gamec wants to come back and mess things up again? No way. Next; Allison Lister, who demanded a big pay raise and when she didn't get it, felt it necessary to throw a temper tantrum like a tired 3 year old and strike out at everyone who she claimed "didn't communicate". The council members communicated all right, they said "NO". Now, Ms. Lister wants to get a seat so she can join the main troublemaker on the Board, Dinosaur Dan Erhart in causing as much trouble as possible. I to am a veteran in Anoka County and my impression is that she was more interested in herself than the people she was supposed to serve. Dan Denno has not yet finished his first term on the Oak Grove City Council and has had some success implementing ideas passed on to him by Matt Look. Denno should finish his term and the work he started there, gaining experience for the future. Bottom Line: Matt Look has FAR MORE EXPERIENCE than Lister and Denno and far more SUCCESSFUL EXPERIENCE than Gamec. Why in the world would his constituents want to replace him, when he is by far the best choice for the District 1 seat?
