Buffets exits bankruptcy with plans

The company, now owned by its lenders, plans renovations, including "action stations" with more food prepared on the spot.

I hope they become successful. There's no reason they can't make it even in this economy! Maybe they re-negotiate some of their real-estate leases. I've eaten at 2 diferrent Ryan's, and they were very good!

They need to upgrade their menu, for the most part it is exactly the same as it was 10 years ago. There definitely is a market for buffets, just look at all the Chinese buffets around. Part of the reason they are doing better is that they are upgrading by adding things such as a hibachi grill and sushi. On top of having better food, most of the Chinese buffets are cheaper, at least for lunch.

I hope they either make some changes to their menu or go away so we can hopefully get either Shoneys or Golden Corral around here.
