The Twins keep pinning their hopes on injury-prone pitchers with mediocre stuff. It does get old.

It's plain and simple. You need to spend money in the majors to be competitive, and as long as the Twins don't, they will never be competitive.

Keep the comedy coming, Joe C. This is funnier than a Woody Allen movie!

The Twins just need to re-sign Liriano and Baker. Couple them with Gibson, Diamond and Duensing or Walters and you'd have an acceptable rotation. Guys like Blackburn who give up ten million hits shouldn't ever even be considered.

In other words, we are going to suck more next year.

They need a new stadium in order to become competitive!

Teams are willing to trade "high-ceiling" Class A players, and the same type of AA player who is two years away because they have a good chance of never making it. The gamble is no worse than 50-50. Small gamble to make for a shot at the pennant in a " they come and they go, Hobbsie. They come and they go," world.

Ryan shouldn't listen to public opinion. It was the fans who were demanding a multi-year deal for Mauer a few years back. It was the fans who were demanding that we dump Plouffe earlier this year. And it was the fans who were wining about our lack of high buck bullpen signings for this year. The only fan that Ryan should listen to is me, and only on this post: Mr. Ryan, please don't trade anybody unless you can get someone of greater value in your opinion in return! This should be the only consideration.

We are desperate for pitching, so clearly the best thing to do is to trade Liriano for a long shot A ball guy!!!!! This guy is our best chance for a dominant pitcher. We just need to set our expectations to Liriano being a middle to bottom of the rotation guy. He will likely be better than that but don't expect it up front. Other teams that need a bottom of the rotation guy with the stuff that could result in a #1 or #2 upside want him but we need that more than a couple of lame class A arms too. How about keeping him and signing a #1 starter in the off season that we should have done the last two off seasons. Unless they can trade Liriano for a pitcher that will be more dominant than he will likely be next season, it is stupid to trade him. We don't need a couple more pitch to contact guys for him. Sign him and only trade him when you can get much more than he is worth. Sell high and buy low!

Blackburn pitches tonight after "finding himself" in AAA states Gardo, and the pitching coach there studies film for 10 minutes and finds all his flaws that have eluded Andy up here for years...the Twins have probably spent more money on Hollywood script writers for the past two seasons than they will ever spend on pitching. I think Gardo needs a little more powder on his nose though for the post-game close-ups.
