Team officials liked what they saw before drafting him, and with training camp approaching, expect good things.

"Team officials liked what they saw BEFORE drafting Walsh." One would certainly hope so.

I'm the one who coined the phrase, "The Blair Walsh Project". If its anything like its namesake, there will be a plenty of hype, but it won't actually be very scary.

Sid, you're kidding, right? What's more "amazing" - that 3 players from the absolute worst NFL football team in the league last year DON'T have jobs... or that they actually might at some point?

I can't wait for the re-building of the Purple's entire front office and coaching staff to begin after this season!!!

I understand letting Longwell go IF Walsh can replace him but to just anoint him as the starting kicker is a bad idea. Longwell has a pedigree good enough to get a job immediately after being released regardless how close it is to the start of the season.

Every new leader brings in his own people. I'm curious who was replaced with Mr. Teague's guys.

NFL teams can't afford to have a kicker with "potential". If Walsh isn't one of the top 32 kickers in the world he shouldn't be on the team.

You can't just "replace" Ryan Longwell. He has been one of the steadiest kickers ever. And he produced under pressure indoors and outdoors. I wish Walsh the best. We'll see what happens under pressure.

may as well go on the cheap for someone who will be used 2-3 times a game.

It's amazing that Sid can't figure out that the three Vikings he mentioned don't have new NFL teams is because they all applied extreme suction as players last year - THEY AREN'T ANY GOOD, THAT'S WHY NO TEAMS HAVE SIGNED THEM YET.
