I think that the City of Minneapolis should purchase the IDS tower. And walk away from funding a new Vikings stadium. The IDS tower would be a good investment and earn money for the City.

Please acknowledge Ed Baker as one of the lead architects as he is a local entrepreneur. Also the person who conceived the skyway system. Just give credit where credit is due.

GWBUDDY- We must review the construction and success of City Center before entering into more real estate. I don't know maybe City Center produces a decent operating margin for the city than I remember. Target Center? Yes, forced acquisition but bad real estate burden for the city. The stadium is a done deal anyway.

Listed by a Chicago real estate broker? There are plenty of good firms here in town.

Hoping the new owner ditches the precious cottage-style benches in the Crystal Court. It just doesn't work trying to "warm up" a great modern building...just go with how it was intended to be.

"Ditch the benches"??? Personally I like the way the trees warm up the space and the benches add to the parklike feeling. I enjoy the white benches and their natural tie-in to the white architectural ceiling. The Crystal Court is one of the true gems of our city. Any city with a cold winter climate would probably welcome that oasis - in the center of it all. Hey, it's a great place to meet people and the clocktower keeps me on schedule too.

One of my favorite top 20 skyscrapers in North America.

I hope someone buys the city center and completely redoes the whole thing. It is horrible and it makes that part of Nicollet mall ugly.

The IDS is antiquated. Inland American Real Estate is desperate to sell the dump because they are in financial difficulty and are renowned as one of the worst performing REITS ever. Get some reporters who know something about the financial markets and give the public the full story.
