Kahn should be embarrassed for not having the brains to draft the right players that high in the draft.

" A coaching legend should be embarrassed if he can't fit Derrick Williams into his team and turn the 21-year-old into a productive NBA player" ...the coach, right? Not the overweight/out of shape, loud mouth , softeee that the coach had nothing to do with. Would you rather have him lie and say , Oh Yes he's perfect at the 3 spot. He can penetrate, create, and guard the 3...NOT...please Khan drafted Williams and Johnson... the best the coach can do is be honest about their abilities...

I love ya Ruesse, but you got it wrong here. May as well say If Adelman can't make Williams into the next Shaq, he ain't the coach we think he is. Williams is a 4 he is not a 3 he is not a 5 coaching won't change that. Our best player is a 4 common sense tells the average Joe that if you have two guys playing the same position you move one for a player that fills a hole. You don't square peg the round hole and wonder why it doesn't fit.

Worst article I've read in a while. Wes Johnson wasn't good at any point during his pathetic career. He wasn't even below average. No basketball genius can fix him, he's almost 26.

Adelman's not a miracle worker. It's not his fault Kahn has blown every high draft pick he's had (except Rubio). Actually Williams might still turn into a useful player, but there's no way he's a 3, which leaves him stuck behind the best player on the team. I hope we trade him before his value drops even further.

Interesting that now is when a Strib writer decides to put the onus on a local coach. The next time Ruesse writes something like this regarding Gardehire will be the first.

Reusse, your last paragraph rules. You are right, that Adelman should be good enough to be able to fit D-Will into a successful role on a winning team. What people haven't done enough of in this town though, is calling out Kahn for COMPLETELY botching a 2 year rebuilding job. I honestly know that I could do a better job than him, and I haven't played basketball competitively since I was 14. He was left with so much to build with, and whizzed the vast majority of it away. So sad, he makes McHale's GMing look sparkly. Why does this franchise have to put up with that?

Sorry Patrick, but you should stick to f-ball and baseball. These guys have to man up. I don't care about who is a 3,4,5,6,7 or 8. What baloney. Dude is 6-8 and put together, with skills. If you are an NBA forward you attack the glass, play rugged defense, and hit shots - all kinds of shots. Jumpers, baby hooks, dunks. These wizards make it sound like a "3" and a "4" are as different as cheesecake and cherry pie. I don't but it. I don't hold out much hope for Wes, but Derrick just needs to get his lunch pail and go to work!!

Reusse, Williams is 21. You make it sound like he'd better be a superstar this year or he's a bust. Unless your name is Johnny Flynn or Wes Johnson, It can take several years to see what kind of player you've got. Give Williams a break, and give Johnson away.

Patrick is sticking to his mantra on writing, which is -Afflict the comfortable, comfort the afflicted-. This is an -afflict the comfortable- column on the Wolves HC, Mr. Adelman. Patrick in merely pointing out that if Mr. Adelman is such a good and revered coach, then he should be able to help Williams become a great player - that's what great coaches do with talented players - turn them into beasts.
