Instead of two levy questions, the board opts to combine them.
Tim you failed to include some very important facts that deal directly with your story. 1) What is the next years budget total the school board is looking to spend? 2) How many students in the district? 3) What was last years budget spend?
Is it just me, or is Keith Hardy fast becoming the only Board member with any 'stones' and the true voice of reason? Which is saying a lot since you cannot run for School Board in St. Paul unless you have DFL endorsement.
As a St Paul property owner I will vote no on the one question levy as I feel this a way to "hoodwink" property tax payers into paying for computers for kids. This will not address the fundamental reasons there is an achievement gap. I work for SPPS and I say stop the administrative costs and THEN we can talk!
As always, the median price home given with the figure that it will only cost so little over a year. But add that to all the other property increases and it is not so little.
