Gophers' McDonald takes a circuitous route home

Staying put and playing for the Gophers became the best decision for former Hopkins star Andre McDonald. With the help of others, he had already overcome so much to lay down roots.

Nice article. Kudos to Jenny Blomgren. Can't wait to watch Andre play. Sounds like Jerry Kill and his staff was classy during the entire recruiting process. Go Gophers!

Great article! Jenny did a great job turning him around and so many people are excited to see him play for the Gophers! The Gophers have done great things for young men coming out of Hopkins!!

it's a player who is the foundation of a football program. if he continues to develop as a person, student, and player he will become a someone who will help recruit even better players.

Excellent article!Jenny Blomgren you are a great person and a true role model for others. May many others do what you have done. Andre you too are a great person and true role model who is destined to be successful at whatever you do. You could have easily went in a different direction, but your heart was telling you different. I know all of us readers are proud of you. Stay true to your heart.
