Second line center is the perfect place for him. He's ready, and this team has no other center capable of out-playing him for that spot, other than Mikko, who already has his own line. This team will be so fun to watch this year...if it stays healthy.

Bobo72, I have said this before the thought process of labeling 1st,2nd,3rd,4th is not logical for team play, that is to say what is best for the team and not EGO for players whom have been doted on their whole playing career which is always the case for offensive players. The best center which is Koivou for Minnesota and Datsuk for Detroit for an example, signal first line for gossip purposes.... What the 35 year old coach is saying is that the top 3 paid players that play forward will be on line number 1, Parise, Heatley and Koivouu... If I am the coach of the other team I shut that line down I win the game, Phoenix can do that easy AND the line your calling the second line looks like a huge defensive liability with Grandlund at Center, even Cullen can't save him playing on the left side reckon

I could cry I'm so happy to see the North Stars errr, Wild get players that will help them this year. We've been very patient with this team. It's time to win, NOW!!

It sucks because every time I read an article on the Wild now, it's tainted by the fact that the lockout is looming. I was shocked by the terrible offer the owners put out and I fear that we won't see hockey for a long time. Hopefully, they'll have enough sense to keep playing through negotiations.

April-Of course the initial proposal was terrible, how else are they going to get some of the things they want. At least they put one forward and the NHLPA is expected to counter at some point this week. They're talking, for now, and that's a good sign... I remain cautiously optimistic that a full season will be played. Either under the current CBA, or a new one. For once, I can't wait for summer to end!

The more I read about the Wild, the more I get excited about them. Granlund will play a big part of their season.
