Definitely the Christian thing to do. Parking for the church has higher priority than housing for the disadvantaged.

The church needs to find alternatives to parking. Exploit the plentiful lots around the church (including the Mpls Convention Center's underground parking) and save the hassle of construction costs and clean up.

So much for the church's concern for the poor. Jesus would not be happy, but then most churches no longer follow His teachings, anyhow.

The church is paying rental gap payments for unto 3 years and throwing in 3 million for affordable housing. As a actual Christian, not just a Christian hater subotai1, I can assure this is the responsible and Christian thing to do. They didn't have to do either.

Wonderful, another hunk of property not being taxed. Everytime a church opens or expands, residential and business taxes must increase to offset the loss in revenue from the churches tax exempt status. Overall church attendance continues to fall, yet churches grow larger and more elaborate. This is just what downtown needs, 60 fewer people and one more parking lot.

With the rental vacancy rate in Minneapolis hovering around 2%, it will be tough finding these people new apartments they can afford.

That's the Jesus way ~ evict the poor out onto the streets so we can park our BMWs closer to the church.

Instead of criticizing the church, why don't people donate some money to them, so they can increase the donations they are making? That would be more "Christian" than whining on a blog.

Westminster Presbyterian Church 1200 Marquette Avenue , Minneapolis, MN 55403 Even a few dollars would help.
