Liriano has revitalized trade value? I seem to recall the Twins got nothing for Santana who was in his last year. So I expect a similar turn out for Liriano. Everyone knows how up and down he is and he is very consistent with his up and downs

Mauer is virtually un-tradeable due to his gynormous contract..so...of the remaining players on the 40 man roster, the Twins should hang onto Diamond, Doumit, Willingham, and maybe Perkins. Anyone else on that roster is easily replaceable. Sad, but true!!

Mauer and Morneau COULD be moved. Yes,jimmy P would have to eat 50% of the salaries, but that is 20 milluion per year available for good everday platers with upside instead of these declining assats. NO ONE should be untouchable. And the giggest deal would be to fire this "coaching" staff and get someone who knows how to play baseball in this century.

Liriano's value is still very low. We aren't going to get any kind of return for him. Best option would be to try and negotiate a 2-3 year deal on the super cheap. If he starts pitching poorly, move him to the pen. We should have Gibson into the rotation by 2013. With Pavano coming off the books, Twins need to make a strong push for Greinke in the off-season. If you keep Liriano, and add Greinke to Gibson and Diamond and that's a rotation that could hold this team together in 2013.

add Morneau to the list...at the TOP of the list! even though it was finally publicized a couple weeks ago they are trying to deal him and there isn't much in return for him right now, Twins should get what they can for him pronto. Dudes got one or two years left in the game tops. Take a flyer on another team's young prospect arms - anything - and se what happens.

Keep Willingham, trade Morneau. I'd hate to see Justin go, but we need to make room for Baby J at first.

I'd say if they can trade all the guys on this list EXCEPT Willingham, do it! Look at what the Wild did over the past year or two. You never know with young talent what's going to happen, especially in baseball but you have to rely on development of the youth as part of the plan. Assuming there isn't an undisclosed serious health concern with Mauer, the only other reason his contract is a problem is because Pohlad's won't elevate the Twins payroll enough to compliment his talent so that he's effective. Even at that, a .300 + base hit guy making that kind of money with no home run power isn't a very good financial value. Even if the ownership would spend the money on big free agents, they won't come here until this team has a good young core.

Keep Willingham, Span, and Liriano and build the team around them. Diamond, Plouffie, and Revere is a good start. Give Morny one more shot as a full time DH before giving up on him.

This team's nucleus is not that bad. They need to get Grienke or an equivalent. Tradeables to me are Span, Capp, Lariano, Doumit (horrible catcher), Pavano, Valencia, Nikioshy, and Morneau. Doumit could possibly be a right fielder/catcher and Morneau has to go because of Mauer.
