Playing a full schedule against the state's best teams is South's risky attempt of constructing a program worthy of its Class 6A status.

South should actually be a Class 5A school, but because they have a cooperative agreement with MN Transitions, they get bumped up to Class 6A. I think they'd be better off dropping the coop and playing 5A.

I know Eden Prairie played South - once ... But envision this scenario - A late October or early November home game for South High Tigers. Mink and cashmere coated stay at home moms from the Lake Conference ... driving the Range Rovers, Mercedes, Acuras and BMWs ... for a Friday evening home game at ... Minneapolis South ... ain't gonna' happen ... Lake Conference football booster clubs just won't let it happen. On the other hand- South can't even win the Minneapolis City Conference so they need to be allowed to continue to play at a level that is appropriate. No sense in getting your back side handed to you week in and out. That's one sure way to 'break' a program. Go South High Tigers!
