Do you really think the college would have asked him to resign unless they knew of some culpability?

It's hard for any family to accept that someone they loved acted in a manner that reflects negatively upon them. But really, why is this news? Does anyone really expect the family's response would be different whether they believed him guilty or innocent?

The report says differently. The report says he knew about it even before 1998, and was at least aware of - if not participating in - the cover-up. They should give that statue of Paterno the treatment that statue of Saddam Hussein got

This family deserves no sympathy and should be ashamed of themselves. Another, my father/brother/sister would never do this crap! Family members shouldn't be allowed to comment anymore because they all say the same thing. Joe had a chance to be a man and he wasn't. There are times that define who you are and now we know that Joe Paterno failed that test. He protected himself and let a serial child rapist continue his criminal activity. Whatever he did right in his life is taken away because of what he didn't do. Joe Paterno was a selfish pig and he deserves whatever negative publicity comes his way. What if it was your child that Sandusky molested? If it was mine I would want to see Joe Paterno in jail with his friend Jerry Sandusky.
