Sunday night's marathon against the Rangers meant the Twins catcher had a quick turnaround for his fifth All-Star appearance.

Sorry you had to play a few extra innings for your $141K/game........it's just not fair Joe. WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

scoot54Jul. 10, 12 9:27 AM

We must lead the majors in organizational pitchers that have needed Tommy John surgery. This is unbelievable!!!

Joe Mauer has to have the worst PR people in the history of mankind. Joe, nobody gives a rip how tired you might be. Suck it up and deal with it. And last time I checked, you aren't the only guy playing in the All Star game. Everybody else had to make travel plans to get to KC too after their Sunday night games....

A guy can't be a "little tired" at 4 am?? Classic case of blowing everything about Joe Mauer out of proportion. Oh well that is the current state of Twins baseball. Blame Joe.

Sleep is overrated, Joe.

What a sad state of affairs that people need to take every opportunity to dig at Joe. The guy has the fourth highest BA and the highest OBP and that's still not good enough. He's missed very few games. He's our only allstar this year and you are surprised that they want to find a way to fit him into the paper. A lot of you need to grow up and get over yourselves.

Minnesota sports fans, Twins' fans in particular, suffer from a terminally sour outlook on life. They should get off their a**es and do something constructive.

Dantes929Jul. 10, 12 2:11 PM

I am guessing Mauer did not hold a press conference to tell people he was tired from playing two extra inning games in a row, flying a thousand mailes and getting in at 4 am. I imagine he was asked the question "How was the trip? Are you tired" and he responded. Should he have said "Well, I make 141,000 a game and that keeps me from feeling tired like most normal people would"? Is there any answer he could have given that would not be ripped on by his critics? Do you honestly think his if any of the Rangers were asked the same question their answer would be any different?

Dantes finally made a mistake -- Arlington to KC isn't a thousand miles. I'm not upset though.
