Putting Parise on a line with Koivu and Heatley will pay dividends for all three. Heatley is great when he has someone to feed him the puck or is paired with someone who will take a shot that he can deflect. He even started making some nice assists later in the season. The team needs to shoot more, and Parise is happy to do that. I'm sure Koivu will just love dishing the puck to Parise. With Suter paired with Spurgeon, you have two defensemen who are very responsible with the puck in the defensive zone, can make sharp outlet passes, carry the puck out of the zone, and work well on the power play. You know that opposing teams will put their best defensive players against them, which should open up more opportunities for other lines, like a second line with Granlund, Setoguchi and Cullen. The addition of Parise and Suter has immediately made the whole team better, allowing them to put players in roles where they are comfortable, instead of pressing them into service in positions that don't suit their skills or style of play.

Joe Schmidt in the video asks the stupidest question that didn't even make any sense. He says, "was there any hesitation to sign a 13 year deal? That's almost half your life." Well put Joe, well put.

Joe must be thinking of golden retrievers instead of people.
