Personally, I think it is cool that a guy can finally get it together after a dozen years in the Major Leagues and become an All Star. It may be the only time it happens for him, and you have to be happy for his good fortune. When you look at his carreer, there wasn't a lot of reason to think that this would have even been a possibility. And we'll see him tonight. Good for him.

I remember whent the Twins had him. I thought to myself "the Twins need help in pitching and this guy throughs his knuckball - they should keep him around". But no, the Twins get rid of him. What a big mistake. By the way, he should be the starting pitcher for the N.L.

"Short-sighted" sums it up with the Twins. R. A. Dickey and David Ortiz; both gone and All-Stars for another team - Short Sighted. And we wonder why the Twins are where they are today. The pitching cupboard is bare with no relief in sight. This reminds me of what another former GM in the area did to a local team. Anybody remember what Doug Risebrough did to the Wild? It's taken 4 years and counting to unravel his mess.

Yeah, we didn't need him. We didn't need David Ortiz either. Good to see a guy at his age and point of his career peaking and getting it done. He makes an old guy like me feel young again.

Who needs to call psychic hotline when we got so many pyschics here that predicted greatness for Ortiz and Dickey? Maybe Ryan should hire the geniuses that comment on here to do all the drafting and trades since you guys seem to know who'll pan out.
