I enjoy Carolyn's columns and would be disappointed if they were shortened for the attention deficient. If they're too much for you, stick to Ask Amy. Short, sweet and usually not very interesting or helpful.

In the second letter, I am just wondering, if the couple were not same sex and conceiving themselves, would that be a problem? I understand the point the gentleman is making but why wouldnt you want that connection with your child? How do you know the donor doesnt have genetic issues that havent been discovered?
