Russo...nice to see we finally have a roster that matches the talents of our beat writer - you rock!!! To Mr. Leipold and Mr. Fletcher - who knows if it will all work out as these things can be strange...nonetheless you are both GREATLY appreciated for having a vision and driving to it! These deals with the young kids we have coming up and the veterans on the team...5-8 years from now we may be looked on as the NHL currently looks at Detroit, Pittsburgh, etc.! Amazing time to be a Wild fan!!!

Seriously Russo, you are the best!!! You have consistently covered the Wild in an amazing manner, even in the bad times. I was glad to see you getting credit nationally for a change. Who do we call at the Strib to get you a raise?

"There was anxiety. There were sleepless nights. There were times when they lost hope." ---- Wow! This ranks right up there with the Cuban Missile Crisis!

Will someone please state where ZP's gal is from. The articles always say Suter's wife is from Bloomington and Zach from TC's but nothing ever about his gal.

Uncle Leo and Fletch had nothing to do with the why they chose Minnesota, that is common sense, the Wifes being from here, Suter being from Wisconsin, Parise being from Minnesota..... Fletch and Leo knew the only chance they would have to bring in a top player via free agency was this year and this moment, it will never happen again for along time these circumstances, had very little to do with the Wild exectives and everything to with the circumstances, what I am saying is Uncle Leo and Fletch have allot to prove as they have messed things up over the last 4 years, anybody can trade players for draft picks and this free agent signings were not their making, if this team was located aywhere else. No deal

Rooooos, thx for laying out the process for us, that stuff is always intriguing to me and a lot of other as well I'm sure. I rarely followed the draft until versus started televising the 1st round, now I won't miss it. And until this years free agency period began I really just kind of kept one eye on it. This year? I couldn't stop watching the process. I don't think I was more then 10 feet from my laptop and phone for the entire 4 days. This has been exciting! We have got a couple of spots to shore up still, but things are definetly on the upswing. Thx again Mike...

I actually got chills reading this article. I felt just a small sliver of nerves realizing how those minutes and hours seemed like days and weeks. Just the waiting would have driven me crazy if I was in Fletcher's shoes! Kudos to Fletcher for making smart decisions like avoiding a trade to ruin cap space. He waited and took a huge gamble ... he WON! We got the two biggest names who WANT to be here! We still have all our prospects and draft picks. We're in a good cap situation. Beautiful! Rarely do you get franchise players without giving up the house. What happened on July 4th is about as rare as rare can get in Minnesota sports. I'm still on cloud 9!!! Congrats Wild and thank you for caring about us fans to spend the money to bring us a quality team!!!
