Former All-Star Brandon Roy agreed to a deal and so did Nicolas Batum, but the Blazers vow they will match any offer to the latter.

POR would be fools to say anything else. If they land Hibbert, they'll match Batum and try to roll with their talented frontcourt. If they don't land Hibbert, they'll be in rebuild mode, and eagerly S&T for Batum, who doesn't want to be there.

belasco said it best in the first post. The only question I have is about Roy's knees.

Lot of money for someone who doesn't have knee's... I'm surprised that knee replacement surgery isn't an option...

Lot of money? Roy will be making the same amount as martell webster is making who will soon be released. Think I'd rather have Roy even with his bad knees over webster any day of the week. Portland please dont be clasless and match our offer on batum. He doesnt want to play for you. What do you not get about that, accept it amd move on. Plus I dont want to have to end up giving away our players in S&T.

Roy: In five years, when you can no longer walk I hope you find this attempt at continuing your career worth it.

Broken down Roy is the Wolves biggest free agent signing so far....that is disappointing. Whose next Bill Walton?

Sign me for 20 minutes a game...I will play for 1/2 of that.

If you look at NBA player salaries, he really is not making that much being a former star. He will be a "come off the bench" player / 6-10 mins a game or if he does start, he won't be playing long. McHale has it right, those knees will be an issue.
