What incentive do they have to do that? If the number of folks coming through the turnstiles willing to watch major league hockey and basketball is sufficient to accomplish the objectives of their business plans, why would they want to woo anyone to wherever? Professional sports are strictly big business, nothing more and nothing less and not at all about winning one for the local Gipper or the fans. Never has been and never will be!

Hey notsid - I agree with most of what you are saying but why I don't agree with all is you have teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, Red Wings, etc that year in and year out demand wins and championships. Anything less is considered failure. Their ownership brass excepts to win and will do anything it takes to win. I'm not saying it's the way to go about it but what I will agree with is opening up the pocket book and paying for that extra piece or two to the puzzle.

Why would players come here when they can sign with real cities like Boston, Chicago and Miami? Minnesota is fly over country.

i see the wild as a franchise looking to tunr the corner and making the moves necessary to bring them back to relevance and or make them a powerhouse. if the wolves pursue williams for gasol then they have reaffirmed my suspicions that the club is still led by idiots and we will continue to be a bottom feeder or mediocre at best. roy, crawford, batum, mayo would all be positive moves. i still likie beasly but i guess hes odd man out. trading away d williams is just another incredibly dumb move by a desperate team. if it does happen its good to know MN is still the state of mediocrity/idiocracy with 3 outta 4 of its big sports teams.

Kahn is going to further bury the Twolves with stupid contracts and roster transactions. The only thing worse than Kahn trying to acquire assets and build through the draft (Jonny Flynn, Wes Johnson, Large Al trade return, facilitating the Carmelo trade and getting nothing for it, Darko contract) will be Kahn trying to "win now". Take cover everyone.
