Cole De Vries' fine outing aside, starting pitchers from the Twins farm system have not pitched well this season for the big-league team.

You're right Sid. Diamond aside, Twins starters haven't lived up to expectations, for the most part. Another stat supporting that is the Twins bullpen is 3rd, behind the Rockies and Padres, in relief appearances. As good as our bullpen has been, they can't be expected to continue their success, being as overused as they are. DeVries did a nice job yesterday. Hopefully, he'll be able to build on his success, and have similar results his next outing. I'd like to see DeVries stay with the club and get some more opportunities. The Twins should send down either Hendricks or Blackburn. Both of those guys are disappointments. I don't see either of them as being a part of the future solution for the Twins turning things around. Way better to give some other guys their chance, IMO.

Kind of hard to develope pitching with the stupid pitch count they enforce. To develope you need to throw. 100 pitches gets some just warmed up. How was the number 100 chosen? Did it just seem like a lot. How do we know that 140 or 150 isnt the benchmark? Let the starter finish, we might have some gas left in the pen in July!!
