The Wolves are rushing to improve, but dumping youth for an overpaid veteran could be costly in the long term .

They keep throwing Johnson out there as a starter even though he has shown he doesn't belong there, and they want to give up on Williams? He will be better than Johnson 10 fold.

How in the world do you put two fours on the floor at the same time?? Gasol is not a center, period. I just don't understand the thinking behind this move. And you don't give up on a #2 pick as quickly as they are apparently willing to do. I don't know if he can play a three, but certainly he needs at least one full year and training camp to show that he can or can't. This whole idea simply doesn't make sense and I hope it falls through.

Kahn, put away your itchy trade finger. Gasol is not the missing piece. I'm not sure he's any better than Pek, and much more expensive. The fact that you're finding little interest in much of the "assets" you've assembled speaks for itself. DWill's stock is rising...don't sell too soon, or trade him for the wrong merchandise.

Ummmm.... This isn't giving up on Williams.... Not at all.... Anyone can see he will be an excellent player.... Kevin love plays the position that is best suited though, and there is no way the wolves give Love away. Using Williams as trade bait is the best option. That being said, Gasol isn't the best use of that trade fodder..... Personally I'd love to have Igudolla instead... Defensive force at the 3/2, and solid offensively..... Sure he is expensive, but he is the perfect fit next to Rubes, and Love, and still has apx 4 years of prime basketball left at least....

Gasol can easily play center.... There are about 7 legitimate starting caliber centers in the league, everyone else is a power forward playing center, heck Gasol was the lakers starting center for the last 5 years, with Bynum off the bench until recently. And yes Gasol is much better than Pekovic at this point.... I like the guys potential, but Pek is much better suited to be the 3rd big on a championship team. If we could get Gasol on the cheap (not happening) a rotation of Love, Gasol, and Pek is a championship caliber rotation.... our wing players on the other hand, would not be..... to say the least.....

I think this is a very important summer for Kahn. He's blown most of the high draft choices where he's had to make a decision. Rubio & williams fell into his lap. Not overly impressed with the job Kahn has done so far. I hope they keep Williams & give him a whole training camp. just my opinion.

Williams has shown signs of being an excellent player -when Rubio is on the floor along with Love. He seems like a man on fire when he sees openings that are left when the focus is on Love. When he is out there with Veasly heis lost. I swear when I wattch Beasley some games it looks as if he is coming off a ride to the game smoking a joint on the way there. I just watch his eyes and can tell if he is going to have a decent game. When his game is off it looks like he hasn't slept in 2 days. Beasley and Webster are clueless when it comes to team. Beasley could be great if he came to work each day ready to play. I just don';t see it. Williams and Love can work. I know one thing. Don't even think of dumping Williams unless it is for a young, proven asset. Even then I think now that Adelman knows where the poison is, Williams will show more consitancy. One person said he looks lost at times. I saw thise times as after Rubio went down. JJ lost a step after his ankle injury. Personally I like the Rubio, JJRidenour rotation. Get rid of Webster now that we have a guy who can think at shooting guard. Put Beasley on the trade block and try to get a guy who will fit in and work every game. I can;t fault Williams for those reasons and the faxt he had no pre season camps or quality practice. Adelman has identified the tumors and I hope he does not surgicly remove Williams by accident. You watch when Rubio comes back. He reads Williams and visa versa. I see them as being a great combo to compliment Love. Shooting guard and aprime time center is what we need. Hopefully we have that guard. Hopefully Peck will turn into that star center. Let's not torallydump the whole project. PS Williams for Gasol would have been a huge error.

Chip I agree with you 110%. Please do not be so short sighted by attempting to proceed with this trade! Last year before the draft, DWill was by far the 2nd best available. People were drooling over him and now a shortened season without summer league and training camp, you want to trade him for an aging Gasol? Cmon Kahn - Dwill's a gem - you have to keep this guy!

NOOOOO TRRRAAADDDDIIINNGGG WWWWIIILLLIIAAAMMMSS. I will be so mad if the Twolves trade d wil. He has so much potential. And he has to play a three. The only way Williams makes sense for the Twolves is if he plays at a three.

Honestly, Kahn is not a smart guy when it comes to basketball. It makes no sense to dump your number two pick a year after you get him. And DWill is going to be a solid player. No point to anything Kahn is trying to orchestrate.
