Graphic: Mercury levels in the Great Lakes region

Surveys of mercury contamination in six types of game fish in the Great Lakes Basin shows that 61 percent have average concentrations above 0.30 parts per million, the level that is considered unsafe to eat for pregnant and womenof child bearing age and children under the age of 15. Most fish in northeast Minnesota have levels that range from 0.30 to 0.95 parts per million.
