You don't need a $60,000 Boat, radar, sonar, GPS, Extreme Netman or a titanium plated nut cup to have fun and go fishing but the companies that exploit the great oudoors for profit don't wnat you to know that.

Still go fishng in grampa's 1952 12-foot boat every year for spring walleye and almost always outfish everyone on the lake!

Fishermen that need a $50k boat, $50k truck and $10k of electronics to catch 4 walleyes just paid $10,000 per pound. How bright is that? Or you can do like Dennis and I do, dump our 14 ft 40 yr old Alumacraft with a 79 Evinrude 9.5 on it, and go out and not worry a molecule about getting it dirty, hitting a rock, or scratching it when we get to the landing. That, and its a heck of a lot more fun knowing that you aren't working 32 hours a week to pay for it all!

Good job Dennis. I really like how you're mollowing with age. Now channel the same line of feeling during deer opener. Boots, knife, gun and a game of tag with a big doe can be just as much - or more - fun, than a 20 pointer in your food plot during the Vikings game.

The gear does not make the outdoorsman, the knowledge and experience does. My brother in law (in a much higher tax bracket) needs to learn this. He can acquire the gear that took me decades but he won't have the skills. Good luck.
